How to Promote Your Blog

Lets face it. Publishing a blog for nobody to read sucks! Chances are if you have gone out on a limb and created a blog from scratch, that you experienced this feeling. This blog is everything you need to know to get started.

So lets get to it! You have a blog and want more readers. Don't we all:) Well how about starting with submission to Microsoft Live, Yahoo and what is that other one called again, oh yeah, Google.

O.K. so all the big guys have your URL. But there are still some other players and you don't have any links to your blog yet.

Next, submit to some blog link directories. I suggest the following:

http://www.blogcatalog.com
http://www.thebestblogs.org


This should be a good start. Looking for more is probably also a good idea. However, the only catch is the resulting Spam. That is why TheBestBlogs.org is good. Small Price to pay for no Spam. They also have the categories and pages all optimized for Search Engines. This means that the link is relevant and ranked higher by the Search Engines.


O.K. now you are decently set up to start posting. Lets look at setup. The number one setup feature that I would support is adding mybloglog. Research this feature here. This creates a community feel. Which is even better with the addition of networking. See the right side of this blog for a visual.
